How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Make Data Count for Better Homes and Services

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Housing Data Manager to join our Housing and Neighbourhoods team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of high-quality housing data, strengthen data governance, and support the delivery of excellent services for residents.
As Housing Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and effective use of housing, asset, compliance and tenant data across the Council. You will work closely with operational teams, senior leaders and IT colleagues to develop robust reporting and drive data-led decision making across housing services.
This role is central to our digital transformation journey and will help shape how we use information to improve performance, meet regulatory requirements and deliver better outcomes for residents.

    What you'll be doing

As a key member of the Housing Leadership Team, you will:
    • Leading the management, governance and quality assurance of housing data across multiple systems.
    • Developing and implementing data standards, validation processes and governance frameworks.
    • Ensuring tenant, tenancy, asset, repairs and compliance data is accurate, complete and fit for purpose.
    • Supporting the development and optimisation of the NEC Housing Management System and associated platforms.
    • Managing data reconciliation and integration between housing, compliance, asset management and corporate systems.
    • Producing high-quality performance reporting, dashboards, analysis and business insight.
    • Supporting regulatory reporting requirements and ensuring data is robust, auditable and compliant.
    • Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery through better use of data, automation and digital technology.
    • Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues on data management, reporting and best practice.

    About you

    Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a strong background in data management, performance reporting and business intelligence, ideally within housing, local government or a regulated environment.

    You will bring:

    • Significant experience managing large and complex datasets.
    • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality and information management principles.
    • Experience working with housing management systems, ideally NEC Housing.
    • Excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insight.
    • Experience developing dashboards, performance reports and data visualisations.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple service areas.
    • Experience leading data improvement projects and supporting organisational change.
    • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    Why join us?

At Stevenage Borough Council, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of housing services for thousands of residents.
You will join a supportive and ambitious organisation that values innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Closing date for receipt of applications: 15 July 2026
Interviews will be held week commencing: 27 July 2026

Please note: It is essential that you continue your application on our ATS system, otherwise the hiring manager will not be able to see your CV when shortlisting
