How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Passive Fire Supervisor / Project Manager / Contracts Manager - Fast Track Opportunity to Director Level

    Location: Central London (office attendance required) & sites across London and the South East

    Sector: Residential Passive Fire Protection

    A successful London-based multidisciplinary subcontractor has secured a significant pipeline of internal passive fire protection works through the residential recladding projects it is already delivering.

    Due to continued growth, the business is looking to establish its own in-house passive fire division. Currently, all firestopping works are subcontracted while the business works towards obtaining the required third-party accreditation.

    They are now looking to appoint an experienced passive fire professional who can play a key role in building and developing the division. Applications are welcomed from Supervisors, Project Managers and Contracts Managers with strong operational delivery experience in passive internal firestopping.

    The Role

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Leading the process of achieving the required third-party passive fire accreditation.

    * Managing the delivery of passive firestopping projects across London and the South East.

    * Providing technical expertise on passive fire products, systems and manufacturers.

    * Managing site teams, ensuring quality, compliance and programme delivery.

    * Developing relationships with clients, suppliers and manufacturers.

    * Identifying new business opportunities and helping grow the passive fire division.

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Proven experience delivering passive internal firestopping projects.

    * Strong technical knowledge of passive fire products, systems, manufacturers and installation methods.

    * Experience managing site labour and subcontractors.

    * Commercial awareness with the ambition to help build and grow a business.

    * Third-party accreditation experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

    The business is particularly interested in either an ambitious, driven Supervisors looking to take the next step in their career, or an experienced Project Manager and Contracts Manager who can bring significant value will also be considered.

    The successful candidate will have the chance to shape the department from the ground up, influence its growth and play a pivotal role in securing accreditation, winning work and building a successful business unit.
