How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

This is a transformational opportunity within a leading global engineering business at the forefront of advanced imaging and inspection technology. As Head of Product Regulation & Project Coordinator, you will take ownership of product compliance across a high-tech product portfolio while also leading the coordination of key New Product Development (PDP) projects from concept through to delivery.

Based in Tring, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for product regulation, ensuring compliance with international standards across global sites. Working closely with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams, you will interpret EU, UL and international regulatory requirements, embedding compliance into product design in a practical and commercially balanced way.

Alongside regulatory leadership, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating cross-functional product development projects. Acting as the central point of coordination, you will develop project plans, establish timelines, monitor progress, facilitate regular project reviews and ensure key deliverables are achieved. You'll work across multiple disciplines, identifying risks, escalating issues where necessary and helping projects meet quality, cost and delivery objectives.

You will also have the autonomy to develop new compliance processes and enhance existing global regulatory frameworks, ensuring best practice is embedded throughout the business. As the company's regulatory expert, you will oversee technical documentation, support product risk assessments, maintain compliance with CE, UKCA, RoHS and REACH requirements, and act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders. You'll also lead investigations where compliance issues arise and provide coaching and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.

The position requires a strong electromechanical engineering background, ideally gained within a high-tech manufacturing environment, together with proven experience in product regulation and compliance. Equally important is your ability to coordinate complex projects, influence stakeholders and build collaborative relationships across international teams. Experience leading cross-functional engineering or new product introduction projects would be highly advantageous.

This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with project leadership, taking ownership of both regulatory compliance and the successful delivery of innovative engineering projects. In return, you'll join a business investing heavily in new technology, offering a flexible working environment with hybrid working, the option of a compressed working week, and genuine autonomy to shape processes and drive continuous improvement.

    Requirements

Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
Proven experience in a Product Regulation or Compliance role.
Strong knowledge of the EU Machinery Directive, EN (phone number removed) and UL requirements.
Experience ensuring compliance with CE/UKCA, RoHS and REACH regulations.
Background in electro-mechanical product design or manufacturing.
Experience communicating and influencing across international and cross-functional teams.
Experience coordinating engineering or New Product Development (NPI/PDP) projects, including planning, scheduling, stakeholder management and risk escalation
    Salary description

    £60000.00 - £65000.00 per year
