How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Oracle Linux | KVM | OLVM | Architecture-Led

Are you an Oracle Linux KVM expert ready to take full ownership of enterprise virtualisation platforms?

We're looking for a hands-on SME / Architect to design, build and deliver secure, large-scale KVM environments in highly regulated, mission-critical settings.

We are looking for someone with SC clearance in place for the role - NPPV3 is also required for the role but this can be obtained before starting.

This is a genuine end-to-end role - from gathering requirements and producing architecture through to build, migration, assurance and handover into live service.

    What You'll Be Doing

Lead the design and delivery of Oracle Linux KVM / OLVM platforms
Produce high-quality HLD & LLD documentation
    Architect and implement:
KVM hosts, clusters & virtualisation environments
    Storage domains (NFS, iSCSI, FC)
Logical networks, VLANs & VM standards
Deliver build, configuration, migration and platform validation
Design for high availability, resilience & disaster recovery
    Define standards across:
    Security hardening & compliance
    Performance & capacity optimisation
    Backup, monitoring & automation
Work closely with infra, network, security & application teams
    Provide technical leadership and mentoring

    What You'll Bring

Deep, hands-on expertise in Oracle Linux KVM & OLVM (oVirt)
Strong experience designing enterprise virtualisation platforms
Proven delivery of HLD & LLD documentation
    Solid knowledge of:
    qemu-kvm, libvirt, VDSM
VM lifecycle, HA & live migration
Strong Linux administration & system hardening
Storage & networking design (SAN, VLANs, bridging, bonding)
Automation skills (Ansible, Bash, Python, APIs)
Excellent stakeholder engagement & problem ownership

Guidant, Carbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
