How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Electrician
    Meridian are working with a well-established M&E contractor in the North-west who predominantly work across areas such as Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool, Wigan, and Blackburn. With a growing FM team of permanent maintenance engineers, you would be joining a respected and growing division of this company. With a wide variety of work on commercial contracts in the area, there are plenty of additional earning possibilities as well as a strong benefits package. If you're looking for a stable and rewarding maintenance role then this is perfect for you!

    Qualified Electrician - Installation or Approved Electrician JIB Gold card
    2391 or equivalent Inspection and Testing qualifications desirable but NOT essential
    Proven experience in commercial electrical maintenance
    Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety standards, and fault-finding
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Excellent communication and customer service skills
    Good communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
    You would need to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
    Full and valid UK Driving LicenceDuties include (but are not exclusive to):

    Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults
    Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance for example 
    EICR Testing, Emergency Lighting Testing, DB health checks
    Installing, upgrading, and maintaining electrical equipment
    Responding to reactive maintenance requests
