How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Mansfield Woodhouse
    Job Type: Full-time | Permanent
Hours: Days Only | Monday to Friday
    About the Company
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, technical excellence, and long-term stability. They offer a friendly and supportive working environment where people are valued and teamwork is at the heart of the operation.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced and welcoming team within a clean, professional toolroom environment, working on varied and technically interesting projects with a genuine focus on quality and continuous improvement.
    About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker with a strong background in precision engineering and, ideally, plastic injection mould tooling to join the team. This is a specialist tooling position and not a general machining role.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance, modification, and repair of high-precision injection mould tools, supporting production quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Candidates with broader toolroom or precision engineering experience who are keen to further develop within injection mould tooling are encouraged to apply.
    Key Responsibilities
The role will involve manufacturing, assembling, maintaining, repairing, and modifying plastic injection mould tools. You will carry out CNC machining activities, primarily milling operations, alongside tool fitting, benching, and fault diagnosis. The position requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, develop and prove CNC programs, and work from 3D CAD models to produce tooling components. You will also carry out inspection and quality checks and support continuous improvement initiatives across tooling processes.
    Skills & Experience Required
Applicants should have a minimum of 3–5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience within a toolroom or precision engineering environment. Previous experience in plastic injection mould tooling is highly desirable, although candidates with broader precision engineering backgrounds and a willingness to develop within tooling will also be considered.
You should have strong practical experience in tool manufacture, assembly, maintenance, and repair together with proven CNC machine operation and programming experience using Fanuc, Hurco, or similar controls. Experience in CNC milling and precision machining techniques is required, and knowledge of EDM processes including spark erosion and/or wire erosion would be advantageous.
You will be comfortable diagnosing tooling faults and implementing corrective actions, with a strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
    Inspection & Quality
Experience using traditional hand inspection equipment is essential, and familiarity with CMM inspection methods would be beneficial.
    CAD/CAM Experience
A working knowledge of CAD/CAM software is required. You should have experience generating and proving CNC toolpaths using software such as Fusion 360, Openmind Hypermill, or equivalent CAM packages.
The successful candidate will be able to work from STEP and IGES models and apply suitable tooling strategies, feeds, and speeds. Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar for model review, basic modification, or electrode design would be advantageous.
    What’s on Offer
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working a days-only shift pattern from Monday to Friday, offering excellent work-life balance.
You will be joining a well-established and secure business with a friendly and experienced team, professional working conditions, varied and technically challenging projects, and a supportive culture with genuine long-term career prospects.
If you are an experienced Toolmaker looking to join a stable business with a great working environment and collaborative team culture, we would welcome your application
