How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: South of England (Some Nationwide Travel Required)
    Salary: £45,000 + Travel Bonuses ( Over £50,000)

    The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing passive fire protection specialist with a strong national reputation built on technical accuracy, compliance and clear client communication. The business operates primarily across the South of England but works on a national basis, with occasional travel required across the UK supported by additional travel bonuses on top of base salary.

This is a permanent position offering long-term stability, a varied workload, and the opportunity to work on a strong pipeline of secured projects across a range of environments.

    The Role

As Passive Fire Surveyor, you will carry out detailed compartmentation and fire door surveys across a variety of live environments, primarily based in the South of England with occasional travel further afield as required. You will identify defects and compliance issues, produce clear and accurate reports, and work closely with the wider project team to ensure passive fire compliance is maintained to the highest standard across all sites.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Conduct detailed compartmentation surveys including fire stopping, cavity barriers, penetration seals and passive fire systems

    * Carry out thorough fire door surveys including full compliance checks, gap tolerances, ironmongery and intumescent seals

    * Identify defects and non-compliance issues in line with current regulations, standards and manufacturer guidelines

    * Produce clear, accurate and client-ready survey reports using digital reporting systems

    * Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and project managers

    * Work primarily across the South of England, with occasional travel to sites nationwide

    * Manage own workload independently across multiple live sites

    What We're Looking For

    * Proven experience conducting passive fire surveys covering both compartmentation and fire doors

    * Strong technical knowledge of fire stopping, compartmentation and fire door compliance standards

    * Experience producing detailed, accurate survey reports

    * Willingness and flexibility to travel nationwide as required

    * Knowledge of FIRAS, BM TRADA or IFC standards — desirable

    * FDIS or equivalent fire door inspection qualification — desirable

    * CSCS Card — desirable

    * Full UK Driving Licence — required

    What's On Offer

    * £45,000 per annum base salary

    * Travel bonuses taking total earnings over £50,000

    * Permanent position with long-term stability

    * Primarily South of England based with occasional nationwide travel

    * Strong pipeline of secured projects across a range of sectors
