How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager - NG Person (HVDC Project) (Outside IR35)
    Location: Vanguard West, Norfolk (PE37)
    Rate: £400 per day
    Contract: Outside IR35
    Start Date: 6th July 2026
    Duration: Until October 2027
    Hours: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday

    Overview:
    Our client, a leading engineering contractor delivering major UK energy infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a flagship HVDC transmission project on a long-term contract basis.
    Reporting to the Installation Manager, you will take responsibility for coordinating site supervisors, managing multiple work fronts and ensuring all mechanical and electrical installation activities are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
    This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's largest energy infrastructure projects with a contract running through to October 2027.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Lead and coordinate site supervisors, operatives and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
    Manage the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical and electrical installation activities.
    Ensure all works are completed in line with programme, budget and quality requirements.
    Monitor site productivity and proactively identify potential programme risks or delays.
    Coordinate daily activities with other contractors and project teams to ensure safe and efficient working practices.
    Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures throughout the project.
    Carry out site inspections and maintain high standards of workmanship.
    Support the Installation Manager with planning, reporting and overall project delivery.
    Assist in the production of site documentation and project records.
    Lead by example, promoting a positive safety culture and maintaining strong working relationships across the project team.Essential Requirements:

    Previous experience working as a Site Manager or Senior Supervisor on major infrastructure projects.
    Previous HVDC, transmission, substation, power generation or other high voltage energy infrastructure experience.
    Temporary Works Authorisation.
    Relevant electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds.
    SMSTS
    CSCS Card.
    First Aid at Work.
    Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
    Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
    Competent using Microsoft Office applications.Desirable Experience

    Experience working on National Grid, SSE or SP Energy Networks projects.
    Experience managing multidisciplinary mechanical and electrical installation teams.This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an experienced Site Manager looking to join a major UK HVDC project, offering a competitive day rate, Outside IR35 status and project security through to October 2027.
