How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Music Teacher - Independent School

    Part-Time (3 Days per Week) | Faringdon, Oxfordshire | September 2026

    Simply Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious independent school in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, for an inspiring and enthusiastic Music Teacher.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded independent school with a thriving Music Department. Working three days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday), you'll teach Music across the Middle, Upper and Senior School while contributing to an extensive programme of concerts, performances and extracurricular music.

    This is a fixed-term contract for one academic year, starting in September 2026.

    The Role

    As Music Teacher, you will:

    Teach engaging Music lessons across Middle, Upper and Senior School.
    Work 3 days per week - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
    Inspire pupils of all abilities through creative and engaging teaching.
    Accompany rehearsals, concerts and performances where required.
    Support pupils preparing for performances and external music examinations.
    Contribute to the school's rich extracurricular music programme.
    Work closely with the Director of Music and visiting instrumental teachers.

    The Ideal Candidate

    You will have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    Experience teaching Music within a secondary or independent school.
    Excellent classroom management skills.
    Strong piano and accompanying skills are highly desirable.
    A passion for music education and performance.
    The ability to inspire and motivate young musicians.
    A collaborative and enthusiastic approach.
