Your new role:
As an SEN teaching assistant within this school you will be based in a mixed nursery and reception class. This is a full capacity class with 5 pupils with profound SEND that require individual 1:1 support and needs that consist of LD, ASC and non-verbal. You will lead on 1:1 speech and language sessions including the use of Makaton and PECs to support communication, integration and sensory stimuli as to support your pupils integration and inclusivity. You will at times be required to support across the wider classroom and assist in phonics assessments using the RWI scheme.
What you need to succeed:
* Full “Right to Work” in the UK
* An NVQ Level 2 Children’s Care Learning and Development or equivalent qualification
* Relevant referenceable experience supporting SEN, ASC and non-verbal are highly advantageous
* A passion for supporting young people with additional needs
* An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
