How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Manager

    Location: Poole, Dorset
    Salary: Competitive + Benefits

An established food manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead its engineering team at a busy production facility in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong engineering leader to take ownership of maintenance performance across a high-volume manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvement, while developing a team of skilled engineers and working closely with production to deliver operational excellence.

    The Role

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant availability across high-speed production and packaging lines. The role will focus on delivering an effective preventative maintenance strategy, responding to equipment issues in a structured way and using engineering data to improve reliability and eliminate recurring faults.

Alongside managing day-to-day engineering activities, the successful candidate will lead and develop a team of Shift Engineers, creating a culture built around accountability, safety and continuous improvement. Working closely with Operations, they will ensure engineering priorities are aligned with production demands while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and compliance.

    About You

The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment and will be confident managing maintenance teams in a fast-paced production setting. They will have a recognised engineering qualification and a strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems, CMMS software and root cause analysis.

Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team are essential, along with experience working within food manufacturing standards such as HACCP, BRC or IFS. Above all, the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys improving engineering performance, solving problems and creating a proactive maintenance culture.
