How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vehicle Technician 

    Location: Stoke-on-Trent
    Salary: Up to £38,000 Basic DOE | OTE £45,320+ Uncapped
    Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 | 1 in 3 Saturdays 08:30 - 12:30
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    The Role

    As a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards while delivering the highest levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs efficiently and safely
    • Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work required
    • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
    • Carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new and used vehicles
    • Fitting accessories and completing authorised repair work
    • Completing manufacturer warranty repairs to required standards
    • Road testing vehicles following repair work where required
    • Completing all workshop documentation accurately and professionally

    About You

    • NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) is essential
    • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic 
    • Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic skills
    • Full UK Driving Licence required
    • Able to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team
    • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
    • MOT Licence, Diagnostic or EV/Hybrid experience would be advantageous but not essential
