The Role
We are recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join an award-winning laboratory in Witham on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in science who wants to gain hands-on laboratory experience with full training provided.
What You'll Be Doing
Weigh analytical samples with a high degree of accuracy
Prepare laboratory samples under the guidance of experienced Chemists
Load and unload laboratory dishwashers
Clean and maintain laboratory glassware and equipment
Transport samples and materials between company sites using the company van
Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment
Follow laboratory procedures, quality standards and health & safety guidelines
Report any issues or deviations to the Laboratory Supervisor
What We're Looking For
Genuine interest in science and laboratory work
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Well organised with the ability to work under pressure
Computer literate
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Able to work with discretion and confidentiality
Full UK driving licence essential
Previous laboratory experience is not required - full training provided
