Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative / VNA Forklift Driver to join a busy warehouse team in Oldbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with warehouse experience and a valid VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) licence who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately whilst operating VNA equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and unload incoming deliveries, ensuring all goods are checked and recorded accurately.
Operate a VNA forklift truck to safely move, store, and retrieve stock from racking locations.
Ensure safe storage, stacking, and distribution of materials in line with company procedures.
Carry out order picking and stock replenishment using VNA equipment.
Maintain quality standards and carry out checks as instructed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Assist with stock control activities, including stock counts and inventory checks.
Complete warehouse documentation and process system transactions accurately.
Carry out daily pre-use checks and basic preventative maintenance on VNA equipment.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
Ensure waste materials are disposed of correctly within designated areas.
Liaise professionally with suppliers, couriers, customers, and colleagues.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety regulations.
Support the Warehouse Supervisor and wider team with any additional duties required to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operation.
Requirements
Previous warehouse experience is essential.
Valid and in-date VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) Forklift Truck licence.
Previous experience operating VNA trucks within a warehouse environment.
Experience working with racking systems and stock storage procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to work.
