How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teacher of Religious Studies

    Full-Time | Secondary School in Cheshire | September 2026 – December 2026

    A welcoming and highly regarded secondary school in Cheshire is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Studies to join its successful Social Studies Department for the first term of the 2026/27 academic year. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to teach in a supportive school with excellent facilities, ambitious students and a collaborative staff team.

    The Social Studies Department encompasses Religious Studies, Sociology, Philosophy and Law, delivering a broad curriculum that encourages students to think critically, appreciate diverse perspectives and develop a strong understanding of ethical, social and legal issues.

    The Role

    Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with Key Stage 5 teaching available for the right candidate).
    Full-time position for the Autumn Term (September – December 2026).

    Work collaboratively within the successful Social Studies Department to provide an outstanding learning experience for all students.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    A reflective practitioner with high expectations for student achievement.
    Suitable for both ECTs and experienced teachers.
