The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Speech & Language Support Assistant

    Location: Aylesbury

    Start Date: September 2026

    Contract Type: Temp to Perm (Full-Time or Flexible Options Available)

    Salary: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)

    About the Role

    We are seeking caring and dedicated Speech & Language Support Assistants to join educational settings in Aylesbury from September 2026 on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build long-term experience while supporting pupils with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

    You may be supporting children with speech and language delays, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other additional learning needs in primary, secondary, or specialist provisions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide 1:1 and small group support focused on speech, language, and communication development.

    Support pupils in accessing the curriculum through adapted communication strategies.

    Assist the class teacher and Speech & Language Therapists in delivering targeted interventions.

    Encourage expressive and receptive language development in a structured and supportive manner.

    Help pupils develop confidence in social communication and interaction.

    Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

    Support with personal care where required (depending on setting).

    Requirements

    Experience working with children with speech and language needs or SEN (formal or informal).

    A patient, nurturing, and supportive approach.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to follow speech and language programmes and intervention plans.

    Flexibility to work across a range of SEN and specialist settings.

    Relevant qualifications or training in speech and language support are desirable but not essential.
