How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    GBR Recruitment Ltd, are working in exclusive partnership with a leading fresh produce company, recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to lead all technical and quality processes and procedures, ensuring the site is always compliant and always audit ready.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced fresh produce Technical Management professional, to work across a multi-acre and high-tech glasshouse growing operation.

    The site is highly sustainable, powered by renewable electricity and surplus heat from the adjacent anaerobic digester (AD), the giant glasshouse produces 100’s of tonnes of fresh produce each year for British consumers.

    Main Duties:

    * Responsibility for all food safety, food hygiene and food quality processes and procedures.

    * Proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety and ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues by adhering to company Health & Safety policies and procedures.

    * Providing technical advice and support to colleagues and 3rd parties.

    * Managing and maintaining all customers technical requirements.

    * Leading the business technical agenda with all customers.

    * Responsibility for managing the audit processes (internal and external audits).

    * Communicating technical, hygiene, quality and H&S control measures / processes with employees, customers and associated third parties.

    Attributes:

    * Strong experience in a similar fresh produce / CEA Technical Management role.

    * Experience of managing technical and quality control processes across CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) systems would be an advantage.

    * Experience of growing fresh produces in greenhouses, vertical farming or hydroponics environments would be an advantage.

    * Experience in managing BRC, LEAF and Red Tractor accreditation / audits.

    * Possess a strong understanding of fresh produce quality requirements.

    * Possess effective professional communication skills in order to deal face to face with other department heads, suppliers, customers and other 3rd parties.

    * High risk technical management experience is required.

    * Flexibility around working hours and patterns is required with the successful candidate required to work extended hours and weekends during peak Harvest times.

    The position is commutable from South Kesteven, North Kesteven, East Lindsey, South Holland, Boston Borough & North Lincolnshire.
