Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Special Needs School, Barnstaple
Age Group: Secondary-Aged Pupils
About the Role:
We are in search of a dedicated and empathetic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Barnstaple. Our school serves secondary-aged students with a variety of special educational needs, including:
Autism
Asperger's Syndrome
ADHD
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing personalized support to our students, fostering an environment where they can thrive and achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting individual students and small groups with their educational and developmental needs
Supporting classroom activities and preparing learning resources
Implementing and monitoring individualized education plans (IEPs)
Encouraging positive behavior and social skills
Offering personal care and assistance as necessary
