How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Engineer (Applications)
    We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer (Applications) to serve as the primary technical expert supporting customers in selecting, configuring, and applying our specialised industrial equipment. In this Mechanical Engineer (Applications) role, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Contracts, and Aftermarket teams to create strong technical proposals and deliver successful project outcomes.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Provide expert technical support for product selection, configuration, and applications
    * Perform pressure and flow calculations for industrial systems
    * Prepare and revise Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Edge or similar)
    * Review technical proposals and orders to identify and mitigate risks
    * Create and deliver technical presentations and reports to customers (virtually and in-person)
    * Support tender preparation and collaborate with internal engineering teams
    * Contribute to product improvements, engineering standards, and new technology development
    * Produce high-quality technical documentation using MS Office (especially Excel)
    What We’re Looking For
    Essential:
    * Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
    * Strong understanding of thermodynamics and mechanics (first principles)
    * Practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
    * Experience with technical calculations and CAD drawings
    Key Attributes:
    * Confident communicator comfortable with customer-facing work and technical presentations
    * Proactive problem-solver with a flexible, can-do attitude
    * Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
    * Interest in power generation or heavy industrial equipment is highly advantageous
