TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic Alternative Provision in Basildon, seeking to appoint a dedicated Outreach Tutor. The provision is committed to supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs through a personalised and therapeutic approach, creating a positive environment where students can build confidence, develop resilience and re-engage with education.
The school is looking to appoint a permanent Outreach Tutor to join the team from September. The successful Outreach Tutor will deliver engaging core subject sessions to students with SEMH needs, adapting learning to meet individual needs while building positive relationships that encourage both academic progress and personal development.
The successful Outreach Tutor will have:
A recognised teaching qualification or relevant tutoring qualification
Experience delivering core subjects to children and young people
Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, ideally within an Alternative Provision or SEND environment
Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
The ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
A positive, patient and resilient approach
