Job Title: Trainee Die-Cutter Operator
Location: Kettering, NN15 6JQ
Salary: Dependent upon experience
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday (30 mins break) / 07:30 – 14:00 Friday (30 mins break)
We are seeking a Die Cutter to join our dynamic production team. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A background in die-cutting operations would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up and operate die-cutting machinery safely and efficiently.
* Complete and record daily machine health and safety pre-use checks according to the prescribed health and safety protocol for each machine.
* Read and interpret job specifications and production schedules.
* Manual handling of raw materials into the machine.
* Ensure machine key performance indicators (KPI’s) and specified run rates are achieved
* Record all daily outputs, waste, and any production issues on production timesheet.
* Job rotation with other machines to cover absence when required.
* Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
* Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Monitor production output and minimise waste.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Work closely with production and quality teams to meet deadlines.
* Adopt a flexible approach to ensure business requirements are met.
* Adhere to company policies and procedure at all times.
* Any other reasonable request made by management team.
About you:
Essential Experience:
* Some experience operating an automatic die-cutting machine would be preferable.
* Strong understanding of production processes and quality control.
* Ability to read technical drawings and job instructions.
* Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and great team player.
* Flexible approach to overtime when required.
Desirable Experience:
* Experience with Bobst or similar die-cutting equipment.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within manufacturing.
