How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Sunbury

    Salary: £35,500 - £42,500 Basic Salary

    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Prepper or Paint Prepper to join a busy Accident Repair Centre in Sunbury. Working as part of a highly skilled Bodyshop team, you'll be responsible for preparing vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring every vehicle is ready for a flawless paint finish.

    The Role

    As a Vehicle Prepper, you will play a key role in preparing vehicles for the paint process, ensuring every repair is completed to the highest quality and manufacturer standards.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Preparing vehicles for paintwork, including sanding, masking, filling, and priming

    Mixing paint to achieve accurate colour matches where required

    Inspecting panels to ensure they are ready for painting

    Working closely with Paint Technicians to maintain an efficient workflow

    Maintaining a clean and organised work area

    Ensuring all preparation work meets quality standards

    Following all health and safety procedures

    About You

    To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Vehicle Prepper, Paint Prepper, Bodyshop Prepper, or Automotive Prepper

    Experience working with water-based paint systems

    City & Guilds qualification or equivalent

    ATA Accreditation (desirable but not essential)

    Strong knowledge of modern vehicle preparation and repair techniques

    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship

    A stable employment history within a Bodyshop or Accident Repair Centre

    The ability to work independently and as part of a team
