How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Year 6 Teaching Assistant

    Support Pupils During an Important Stage of Their Education

    A forward-thinking primary school in Wellingborough is seeking a motivated and dependable Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 for the full academic year. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils as they prepare for their transition to secondary school, providing both academic and pastoral support throughout a key period in their educational journey.

    The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils reach their full potential, build confidence, and develop the skills needed for success in their final year of primary education.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide classroom support to Year 6 pupils across a range of subjects
    Assist with the delivery of engaging lessons and learning activities
    Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce key concepts and learning objectives
    Support pupils as they prepare for end-of-year assessments and secondary school transition
    Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and achievement
    Help maintain a focused, productive, and inclusive classroom environment
    Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
    Contribute to the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils

    The Ideal Candidate

    Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
    A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum is advantageous
    Confident supporting learners with varying abilities and learning needs
    Patient, proactive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils
    Strong communication and organisational skills
    Able to work effectively alongside teachers and wider school staff
    Committed to helping pupils achieve their personal best
