How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    QUALITY ENGINEER / JUNIOR QUALITY ENGINEER

    Location: Staines, Surrey

    Salary: £30,000 to £37,000

    We are recruiting a Quality Engineer for a growing engineering and manufacturing business.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Quality Engineer, Quality Coordinator or Quality Technician who wants to develop their career into quality management.

    Training and further development will be provided, including internal auditor training where required.

    The Quality Engineer will help maintain the company’s quality, environmental and health and safety management systems.

    Responsibilities will include:

    * Supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

    * Helping maintain the Quality Management System and QMS documentation

    * Writing and updating procedures

    * Supporting internal audits

    * Working alongside external auditors

    * Supporting supplier quality and manufacturing quality

    * Helping investigate quality issues and implement improvements

    * Ensuring procedures and processes are followed

    * Communicating with employees across the business

    The successful Quality Engineer will ideally have some experience within quality, engineering or manufacturing.

    Experience as a Junior Quality Engineer, Quality Coordinator, Quality Technician, QMS Coordinator or Internal Auditor would be useful.

    Internal audit experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided.

    You should have:

    * A diligent and methodical approach

    * Strong attention to detail

    * Good communication skills

    * An interest in ISO standards and quality management

    * A willingness to learn and progress

    * Experience within engineering or manufacturing would be useful

    * Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 would be beneficial
