How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Aston Clinton / Aylesbury
    Field Service Technician
This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused Field Service Technician to join a successful medical engineering and manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Aylesbury.
The role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working independently, travelling throughout the UK, and delivering a high standard of customer service. Operating from a fully equipped, state-of-the-art service van (mercedes), you will visit hospitals and healthcare facilities nationwide to carry out equipment servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance, installations, and basic fault diagnosis.
The field service technician will typically be based in the office two days per week (usually Monday and Friday), with the remainder of your time spent visiting customer sites across the UK. As part of the role, you should be comfortable staying away from home for approximately 2–3 nights per week (fully expensed), with occasional additional travel depending on customer requirements.
During your initial training period, you will spend more time in the workshop learning the company's products, service procedures, and maintenance processes. Once fully trained, you will be responsible for carrying out planned service visits, equipment checks, functional testing, and straightforward repairs or component replacements on-site.
This role is less focused on complex engineering repairs and more centred around preventative maintenance, customer support, equipment testing, and ensuring products remain operational. Where specialist repairs are required, you will identify the fault, document your findings, and arrange for the equipment to be returned to the workshop for further investigation.
Working closely with customers, you will act as a key representative of the business, delivering a professional and positive experience at every visit.
    Field Service Technician Requirements
    * Previous experience in a field-based service, maintenance, installation, or technical support role.
    * Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and end users.
    * Practical mechanical or electrical aptitude and confidence using tools and following service procedures.
    * Ability to carry out basic fault finding, functional testing, and component replacement.
    * Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
    * Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
    * Full UK driving licence.
    * Able and willing to travel extensively throughout the UK.
    * Comfortable staying away from home approximately 2–3 nights per week (occasionally more if required).
    Desirable
    * Experience working within hospitals, healthcare environments, medical devices, laboratory equipment, or similar technical products.
    * Previous experience operating in a customer-facing field service environment.
    * Experience completing service documentation, maintenance records, or compliance reports.
