Academics Ltd is currently seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming and supportive school in Bexleyheath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking for a long-term full-time role within a thriving educational environment.
As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises remain safe, secure, clean and well maintained for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and securing the school premises each day
Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and general handyman duties
Undertaking routine health and safety inspections across the site
Ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, tidy and well maintained
Setting up classrooms, halls and other areas for school events and activities
Monitoring site security and reporting maintenance concerns promptly
Supporting deliveries, contractor visits and site access arrangements
Assisting with the day-to-day upkeep of school facilities and equipment
Responding to urgent maintenance issues as requiredThe Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative or similar role
Good practical maintenance, repair and DIY skills
Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Flexible, hands-on and dependable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain oneWhat's on Offer
Full-time position, Monday to Friday
Competitive hourly rate of £15+ per hour
