How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role:

As an Event and Warehouse Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and providing technical support for events and client projects. Working both at Gofer's warehouse and on-site, you will help prepare, maintain, deliver, install, and service a wide range of specialist equipment, ensuring everything is ready for deployment and returned equipment is processed efficiently. Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, although flexibility will be required to support project and event schedules, including occasional evenings and weekends.

    Main duties and responsibilities:

Prepare, inspect, test, repair, and maintain equipment, generators, vehicles, and associated assets ready for hire and event use.
Deliver, collect, install, and support temporary electrical distribution systems, generators, and event equipment at client sites.
Maintain accurate stock records, monitor consumables, support stock control processes, and assist with annual stock takes.
Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate logistics, transport, staffing, and equipment requirements for upcoming projects and hires.
Provide technical support to customers both on-site and over the phone while building strong and professional client relationships.
Maintain warehouse, yard, fleet, and equipment presentation standards, ensuring a safe, organised, and professional working environment at all times.

    About you:

As an Event and Warehouse Technician, you will be practical, organised, and enjoy working in a hands-on, varied role. Experience within warehouse operations, events, temporary power, generators, plant equipment, vehicle maintenance, electrical systems, or a similar technical environment would be advantageous.

You will have strong communication and customer service skills, good IT knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail. A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

A full UK driving licence is required, and experience towing trailers and generators would be highly beneficial. Additional qualifications such as forklift, B+E, BS7909, ADR, First Aid, or Health & Safety certifications are desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
