How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Full-Time HLTA - Permanent Role
    Location: Chesterfield
    Start Date: September 2026

    Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and successful multi-form entry Junior School in Chesterfield from September 2026.

    This is a full-time, permanent position, initially payrolled through Tradewind Recruitment, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a qualified teacher looking to move away from the demands of a full-time classroom teaching role while still making a significant impact on pupils' learning.

    As a HLTA, you will play a key role within the school, taking responsibility for delivering PPA cover across Years 3 to 6 and providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences for pupils. You will also be required to step in and provide short-term teacher absence cover, so confidence leading a class independently is essential.

    The successful candidate will:

    Hold a recognised HLTA qualification (essential)
    Be a confident and professional classroom practitioner
    Have strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
    Have excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
    Be confident delivering lessons across a range of subjects
    Be adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
    Be committed to providing a high standard of education and support for pupilsThis role would also suit a qualified teacher looking to take a step away from full-time teaching, offering the opportunity to use your classroom experience in a more flexible capacity while continuing to inspire and support children.
