How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    School Caretaker - Liverpool

    Full-Time | Temporary Roles Available | ASAP and September Starts

    With the new academic year fast approaching, we are looking to recruit experienced and reliable School Caretakers to support schools across Liverpool. Due to a busy period currently and an increase in September vacancies, we have a number of full-time temporary opportunities available.

    Pay Rate: £17.50 - £18.50 per hour

    Key Responsibilities:

    Opening and closing school premises
    Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
    Ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained
    Conducting health and safety checks
    Managing contractors and deliveries on site
    Setting up rooms and facilities for school events
    Maintaining cleanliness of external areas, including pathways and car parks
    Responding to site-related issues as they ariseWhat We're Looking For:

    Previous caretaker, site supervisor, facilities, or maintenance experience
    Experience working within a school environment is desirable
    Good understanding of health and safety procedures
    Practical maintenance and DIY skills
    Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SPENCER CLARKE GROUP
