How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER FTC – LAYOUT PLANNER

Over the past few years, we have invested significantly in improving our operational performance, with a strong focus on enhancing our manufacturing capabilities. As part of this journey, we have embarked on a major factory upgrade programme, optimising layouts, improving workflows, and creating the infrastructure needed to support our long-term growth strategy.

To help drive this exciting initiative forward, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join us on a 12–18 month fixed-term contract. This is a high-profile role with responsibility for leading the final stages of a significant capital investment project.

Working closely with managers across the business, you will assess the future requirements of each value stream and develop plans to ensure these needs are met. You will be responsible for designing and optimising factory layouts, identifying equipment and resource requirements, developing project costings, and presenting recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team.

To succeed in this Manufacturing Engineer role, you will have a proven track record of delivering capital expenditure projects within a manufacturing environment. You will be experienced in managing budgets, coordinating project activities, and engaging stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful outcomes. Strong influencing skills, excellent organisational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment are essential.

    Benefits for a Manufacturing Engineer

In addition to a competitive starting salary, QD Oxford offers flexible working hours and a half-day on Fridays. We also offer 25 days annual leave, private healthcare, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package that you can tailor to your own requirements. We also invest in our talented employees by supporting them in their ongoing career and development so that they reach their full potential. We care and work hard to provide a workplace where you can grow and learn.

Please note that AI is not used during our recruitment process. Our interview process typically includes an HR screening call, MS Teams interview, followed by an onsite interview
