How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Perfect Personnel are supporting one of our clients who are currenlty recruiting for a Fabricator / Welder

    Location: Taunton, Somerset

    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Salary: £31,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Overtime Available

    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join a well-established and growing engineering business based in Taunton.

    This role is ideal for someone with a proven background in fabrication and welding, or for someone who has completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship or BTEC in Welding & Fabrication and has gained hands-on industry experience.

    Working within a skilled fabrication team, you'll manufacture a wide range of bespoke architectural, structural, and secondary steelwork to a consistently high standard.

    The company operates from modern, well-equipped workshops and uses the latest CNC processing technology to ensure precision, efficiency, and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

    Typical Projects

    Feature staircases

    Access stairs, gantries and walkways

    Balustrades and handrails

    Balconies

    Structural steelwork

    Bespoke architectural metalwork

    Key Responsibilities

    Fabricate and weld a variety of bespoke steelwork from technical drawings.

    Work accurately from fabrication drawings and specifications.

    Produce high-quality work while meeting production deadlines.

    Work collaboratively within the fabrication team.

    Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping.

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    A background in fabrication, welding, or manufacturing.

    The ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.

    A minimum of 5 years' fabrication/welding experience (preferred).

    Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.

    The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

    Good organisational and time management skills.

    A positive attitude with a flexible approach to work.

    Experience using tube bending machinery and robotic welding systems would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

    Working Hours

    Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
    Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
