How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Architectural Technician / Technologist
    Location: Birmingham City Centre
    Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 DOE

    Are you an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist looking to join a dynamic and design-focused architectural practice?

    The Role
    As an Architectural Technician / Technologist, you will play an important role in supporting project teams through all stages of the design and construction process. You will contribute technical expertise, produce high-quality project information, liaise with clients and consultants, and assist in the delivery of successful projects from concept through to completion.

    The role offers excellent exposure to technical design, project coordination, site activities and planning processes, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their career within architectural technology.

    Key Responsibilities
    Technical Design & Project Support

    Produce technical drawings, details and project information using Revit and AutoCAD.
    Assist with technical design development and project delivery across a range of sectors.
    Support project teams in coordinating information between clients, consultants and contractors.
    Carry out measured building surveys and prepare accurate survey drawings.
    Contribute to planning applications and building regulations submissions.
    Assist in maintaining project trackers and managing project documentation.Project Coordination

    Attend design team, client and site meetings.
    Prepare meeting notes and project documentation.
    Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and local authority representatives.
    Support the administration and coordination of project information throughout the project lifecycle.
    Maintain accurate records of site visits, correspondence and technical information.
    Technical Documentation

    Produce reports, presentations, specifications and project documentation.
    Issue and receive drawings and project information.
    Assist with NBS specifications and technical submissions.
    Maintain organised project filing systems and document control procedures.
    About You
    To be considered, you should have:
    HNC, HND or Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction, or a related discipline (preferred).
    Experience working within an architectural practice or similar technical environment.
    Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.

    Proficiency in:

    Revit
    AutoCAD
    Adobe Photoshop
    Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
    NBS Chorus (advantageous)
    Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methods.
