How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer:  A Level Computing

    Part Time (0.5 fte), Fixed Term (12 Months)

    Salary: £32,136 - £42,848 pro rata (£16,068 - £21,424 actual)

    The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers.  Our Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.

    We are looking for a teacher A Level Computing within our Academic Studies Department.

    Based in our Academic Studies Department, we are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual to lead on and teach on our A-level Computing courses.  As well as being an inspiring teacher with the ability to enable all learners to reach their true potential, you will hold an appropriate subject qualification to degree level along with a Level 5 teaching qualification such as the Diploma in Education and Training (formerly DTLLS) or equivalent.

    We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player. As well as relevant experience, you will be qualified with related degree.

     Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    Deliver a flexible and innovative curriculum that is responsive to learner needs and future developments within Computing education.
    Deliver excellent standards of teaching and learning across the curriculum area.
    Contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the department.
    Support students to achieve excellent academic outcomes and progression opportunities. Required Skills and Experience:

    Holds a degree (or equivalent) in Computing, Computer Science or a related discipline.
    Holds an appropriate teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS or equivalent) or is willing to work towards one.
    Has experience of teaching A Level Computing in a post-16 setting.
    Is an outstanding and innovative teacher who achieves excellent learner outcomes.
