How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Role Overview – Electrical Design Engineer

We’re supporting a long‑established engineering and manufacturing business in Worcestershire as they look to bring an Electrical Design Engineer into their team. The company designs and builds industrial equipment used globally, and this role is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of design work, hands‑on problem‑solving, and working closely with colleagues across engineering and manufacturing.

If you like taking ownership of your designs, being involved through the full project cycle, and contributing to equipment that’s built on-site, this role will give you exactly that.

Key Responsibilities – Electrical Design Engineer

Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
Designing electrical systems, cable routing, and circuit protection to meet project requirements.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, BOMs, and design packs.
Working alongside mechanical and project teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and manufacturable.
Supporting build, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
Ensuring all work meets relevant electrical standards and safety regulations.
Contributing to product improvement and problem‑solving activities.
Key Experience & Qualifications – Electrical Design Engineer

A degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience producing electrical designs using CAD.
    PLC Programming experience is desirable.
A solid understanding of electrical principles, circuit design, and control systems.
Knowledge of industrial equipment, electrical safety, and applicable standards.
A logical approach to problem‑solving and an eye for detail.
Confidence communicating with colleagues across engineering and manufacturing.
    Benefits – Electrical Design Engineer

33 days per annum (including Bank Holidays) increasing with length of service.
    Quarterly bonus
    4% employer/ 5% employee pension contributions.
Annual discretionary pension bonus based on company performance
    Life Assurance 4× annual salary
