How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job position: Technical Services Manager

    Location: Central/Northern Region

    Hours/Days: 40 hours week; Monday - Friday

    Salary: £45,000

    Role description:

    Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Services, the Technical Services Manager will take the lead role in the management and development of the central and northern operating region for our plumbing and technical services department. You will be responsible for the recruitment and development of plumbers and technical services engineers to create a high performing team in the Central & Northern region of the country, and you will manage all planned & reactive plumbing works in the region to ensure their safe and effective delivery.

    You will also directly support with management of work delivered by our subcontractors and supply chain partners in the region, and create a high performing region to support the growth of the Technical Services department.

    By collaborating with the Business Support and Regional Service Teams, you will drive regional & departmental revenue and profits, and will ensure all field staff and subcontractors within your allocated region are suitably skilled, trained and competent to the required standards.

    In addition, you will provide technical support for our sales & account management team, to ensure all works are delivered successfully, and the highest standards of service are provided to our customers.

    Qualifications & experience:

    * Essential – Must have clear and demonstrable experience in the direct delivery of the following plumbing and remedial engineering services:

    * Hot & cold water system plumbing & remedial works

    * Chlorine Dioxide Units - Servicing, repairs and installation

    * RO Plant - Servicing, installation, and maintenance

    * Closed systems – Servicing, maintenance & analysis

    * Cooling Tower - Cleaning & disinfection and fill pack replacement

    * Water Softener - Servicing, maintenance and installation

    * Iron Filtration Plant - Servicing, Disinfection, Resin replacement

    * RPZ Valve – Testing

    * Essential - Must also have a minimum of least 2 years’ experience in the supervision or management of the plumbing or technical services engineering team.

    * Experience of working in a supervisory or managerial role within the water treatment/water hygiene industry.

    * Excellent working knowledge of the water treatment/legionella industry and legislation.

    * Must possess NVQ level 3 or equivalent plumbing qualifications.

    * Excellent communication, management and customer service skills.

    * Proficient in using the field service software and / or Microsoft Office Package.

    Responsibilities:

    * Manage the safe and effective delivery of all regional plumbing and technical services (eg water treatment installations, servicing & maintenance)

    * Oversee and progress the development of field service staff and job management system for the plumbing and technical services

    * Ensure departmental KPIs and revenue targets are achieved and exceeded

    * Act as a Heath & Safety champion for the department and region

    * Provide the sales and account management team with technical plumbing and water treatment advice and guidance

    * Building and maintaining a professional working relationships with CES’ service and sales/account management team and our larger customer base

    * To ensure a continued high quality service to customers

    * Meeting targets and goals - developing strategies

    * Dealing with any customer queries and monitoring service issues

    * Managing a team of 10 - 12 field engineers

    * Coordinating the engineers work and installations

    * Tracking the progress of projects and engineers ensuring deadlines are being met

    * Ensuring all works is being completed to the highest standard

    * Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
