How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Design Technology / Vocational Teacher - SEMH School - Eccles
    Location: Eccles, Salford
    Pay: £200+ per day
    Contract: Long-term, 12-week temp-to-perm opportunity
Start: ASAP / September options available

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a specialist SEMH provision in the Eccles area who are looking to appoint a Design Technology / Vocational Teacher to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, resilient and engaging teacher who can deliver practical, hands-on learning that gives pupils a real sense of achievement. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, so the successful teacher will need to be confident building relationships, setting clear boundaries and creating lessons that students genuinely want to engage with.

The school is looking for someone who can bring ideas to life - whether that is through design technology, construction-style projects, practical skills, enterprise activities or vocational learning. The key is being able to create projects that are meaningful, structured and accessible for pupils who may have previously struggled in more traditional classroom settings.

    The role will include:

Planning and delivering engaging Design Technology / vocational lessons

Creating practical projects that pupils can buy into and complete with pride

Supporting students with SEMH needs through a calm and consistent approach

Building positive relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviour

Working closely with support staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders

Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and employability-style skills

    The ideal candidate will have:

    QTS - essential

Experience teaching Design Technology, vocational learning, construction, practical skills or similar

A strong understanding of SEMH, behaviour and trauma-informed practice

The ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs

A creative approach to planning projects and practical lessons

Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

This role is offered on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis, giving both the school and the successful teacher the opportunity to make sure it is the right long-term fit.

    Why apply?

    £200+ per day

    Long-term role with permanent opportunity

    Supportive specialist setting

Opportunity to shape a practical and vocational curriculum

Chance to make a genuine difference to pupils who need the right teacher to unlock their potential

If you are a qualified teacher with a passion for practical learning and supporting young people with SEMH needs, we would love to hear from you.
