How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Owen Daneils are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is currently looking to recruit a CNC Improver / Machining Operative to join their production team on a permanent basis.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing and machining experience who is looking to further develop their career within a busy engineering environment. The successful candidate will ideally have exposure to CNC machinery, with experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Setter/Operator, or Machining Operative, and be keen to build on their existing skills.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Operating CNC machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    Assisting with machine set-ups, tooling changes, and basic adjustments
    Producing components to engineering drawings and customer specifications
    Carrying out quality checks using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges
    Supporting the wider production team to ensure output targets and deadlines are achieved
    Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping at all times
    Reporting any machine faults, quality issues, or production concerns to management
    Working closely with experienced machinists and supervisors to continue developing machining skillsCandidate Requirements:
    Previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential
    Experience operating or working with CNC machinery
    Background as a CNC Machinist, CNC Operator, CNC Setter/Operator, Improver, or Machining Operative would be highly advantageous
    Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings
    Experience using measuring equipment and carrying out quality inspections
    Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
    Keen to learn, improve, and develop within a machining/engineering role
    Flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a teamWhat’s on Offer:
