How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hydraulic Field Service Engineer

    Midlands and South West

    £38,000 – 45,000 + Company Van – Annual OTE 60-70K With Overtime

    The Company

    We are working closely with one of the UKs leading companies in the hydraulics market.   The business provide bespoke hydraulic systems which are used across a huge range of manufacturing and industrial markets.

    The business turns over in excess of £100 million a year and employ 600 as a group and have ambitious plans for year on year double digit growth as part of their strategy.

    As part of their growth plan they are looking to recruit two Hydraulic Field Service Engineers with immediate effect.   You will be working across pre dominantly the Midlands and South West carrying out planned service and repair of the hydraulic power units the business supplies.

    The Role

    The role of Hydraulic Field Service Engineer will be working throughout the UK carrying out the planned service and repair on specialist hydraulic systems.   

    The systems the company provide consist of pumps, motors, pipework and valves have a wide range of applications across both manufacturing and agricultural vehicle manufacturing.

    The Field Service Engineer role will involve:

    Hydraulic pipework installations
    PPM of hydraulic power units
    Carrying out fault finding diagnostics
    Putting together risk assessments and method statements for site work required
    Providing customers of quotes for service work needed
    The role will see typically spending a couple of nights away from home per month

    The Candidate

    To be successful in your application for this Hydraulic Field Service Engineer role you will need:

    Experience in the service and maintenance of hydraulic systems
    Strong fault finding skills
    To be a good problem solver
    A supporting mechanical engineering qualification
    To be happy working on the road travelling and meeting customers

    The Benefits

    £38,000 – 45,000
    Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x
    OTE of 60-70K with overtime
    25 days plus 8 days bank holidays
