How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Site Manager – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

Location: York (with travel across project routes)
    Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE
    Type: Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of a national Tier 1 EPC delivering major energy, utility and civil engineering projects across the UK.

We are looking to secure a civils-biased Site Manager to take ownership of site operations and ensure CDM compliance during the pre-construction, ground investigation, survey and feasibility phases of nationally significant infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on site leadership role, responsible for coordinating multiple work fronts, managing subcontractors, maintaining programme performance and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and quality are achieved.

We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience delivering civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects in a Site Manager, Site Agent or Project Engineering capacity.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Day-to-day management of site activities across multiple locations.

    *

Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and specialist suppliers.

    *

Management of ground investigation, survey and enabling works packages.

    *

Planning and coordinating site logistics, access arrangements and work programmes.

    *

Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

    *

Leading site safety initiatives and maintaining a strong health and safety culture.

    *

Conducting site inspections, briefings and progress meetings.

    *

Liaising with project teams, stakeholders, landowners and external bodies.

    *

Monitoring productivity, quality and performance on site.

    *

Identifying and resolving site issues to maintain programme objectives.

    You will have:

    *

Proven experience managing civil engineering site operations.

    *

Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.

    *

Experience overseeing multiple work fronts and dispersed teams.

    *

A proactive and hands-on management style.

    *

Excellent understanding of site health, safety and environmental requirements.

    *

Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.

    *

The ability to build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Site Manager who thrives in a site-based environment and wants to play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure projects from inception
