How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mainstream Primary School seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
    Waltham Forest, London
    Pay: £95 - £110 per day
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time, Long-term (8:30am – 4:00pm)

    Vocational Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest to appoint a caring and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a nursery setting starting in September 2026.

    This rewarding role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support for a nursery-aged child with Cerebral Palsy. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the child can access learning in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

    The school is seeking a patient, proactive, and compassionate practitioner who can act as a positive role model and provide consistent support for the child’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs.

    Key Responsibilities for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role:

    * Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a nursery child with Cerebral Palsy

    * Support access to learning and participation in daily activities

    * Assist with physical, communication, and personal care needs where required

    * Implement strategies outlined in the child’s EHCP

    * Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals

    * Support emotional regulation and wellbeing

    * Encourage independence and engagement through adapted learning activities

    * Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment

    * Maintain accurate communication and feedback regarding progress

    Requirements for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role:

    * Experience supporting children with SEND (essential)

    * Understanding of working with children with physical disabilities (desirable)

    * Knowledge of EHCPs and individual support plans

    * Calm, patient, and nurturing approach

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * Ability to act as a positive role model

    * Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
