How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering focused manufacturer that has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and technical expertise. With a busy order book and ongoing investment in its manufacturing operations, the business is looking to strengthen its engineering team through the appointment of a Production Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful production environment where you'll work closely with manufacturing teams to improve processes, resolve technical challenges, and support the efficient delivery of high-quality products across machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly operations. The Production Engineer will work closely with production, quality, design, and planning teams to improve manufacturing methods, support day-to-day operations, and ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

    Production Engineer - Key Responsibilities

    • Review and improve existing production processes across machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly areas.
    • Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routings, and process sheets.
    • Support the smooth introduction of new products, methods, and process changes into production.
    • Investigate production problems and implement practical, effective solutions.
    • Work with shop floor teams to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and production aids.
    • Support continuous improvement activity across quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
    • Liaise with internal departments to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
    • Monitor production performance and recommend improvements where required.
    • Ensure manufacturing processes are robust, repeatable, and aligned with customer and quality requirements.

    Production Engineer - Candidate Requirements

    • Previous experience in a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar role.
    • Experience within a traditional engineering or manufacturing environment.
    • Good working knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, or similar production processes.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
    • Experience creating or improving manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with shop floor and office-based teams.
    • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process development.
    • Relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship, HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent experience.

Production Engineer - What’s on Offer

    • Competitive salary and benefits package.
    • Opportunity to join a stable and respected engineering business.
    • Varied work across machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly operations.
    • Supportive working environment with close links to the shop floor.
    • Long-term career development opportunities.
    • A role where your improvements will have a visible impact on production performance.

If you are a Production Engineer looking for a new opportunity within a hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please do applyu now
