How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Team Leader – Children's Residential Home

    Are you an experienced Team Leader looking for your next challenge, or a Senior Residential Support Worker ready to step into a leadership role?
    We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Team Leader to join our specialist children's residential service in Rochester. This is an exciting opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people while developing your career within a growing and ambitious organisation.
    Working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting staff and ensuring high standards of care are consistently delivered.
    Salary & Benefits
    Salary is £40,000 per annum and includes up to 8 sleep-ins per month. If fewer than 8 sleep-ins are available, your salary will not be reduced. Additional sleep-ins are paid at £50 per sleep-in and any hours worked above contracted monthly hours will be paid at your standard hourly rate.

    The Role
    As Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day operation of the home, lead shifts and help create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.
    You will support staff teams, promote positive outcomes, ensure safeguarding standards are maintained and contribute towards the home's compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
    Key Responsibilities
    *
    Lead shifts and support the daily operation of the home.
    *
    Mentor, guide and support Residential Support Workers.
    *
    Promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
    *
    Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
    *
    Support care planning, record keeping and compliance requirements.
    *
    Work closely with families, social workers and external professionals.
    *
    Contribute to staff development, inductions and training.
    *
    Help maintain a positive culture and high standards across the service.
    Requirements
    Applicants must have previous experience within a Children's Residential Home and experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
    You should hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and have the ability to lead shifts, support staff and work effectively within a leadership team.
    Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader would be advantageous.
