How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MACHINE TECHNICIAN

    Job Title: Machine Technician

    Location: Wirral

    Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

    Job Role of the Machine Technician

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing manufacturing business operating from a modern production facility on the Wirral.     You will be responsible for carrying out machine maintenance, fault-finding, and planned preventative maintenance activities across a range of production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production targets and driving continuous improvement across the site.

    Sector – Manufacturing

    Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Machine Technician

    Previous machine maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
    Hands-on experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
    Ability to diagnose and rectify mechanical faults on production machinery.
    Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Requirements for the Machine Technician

    Proven machine maintenance and fault-finding experience.
    Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
    Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
    Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
    Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

    Desirable Requirements for the Machine Technician

    Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering).
    Experience working within food, FMCG, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
    Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge.
