Functional Safety Manager / Engineer – Automotive Semiconductors - ISO 26262 - Oldham
A global semiconductor client of ours are seeking a Functional Safety Manager / Engineer to lead ISO 26262 functional safety across cutting-edge automotive semiconductor products. This is a high-impact role driving safety strategy, governance, and engineering excellence across the full product lifecycle.
You will own and evolve the Functional Safety Management System (FSMS), lead critical safety activities including HARA, FMEDA, FMEA, ASIL determination, and ensure robust compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 standards. Working closely with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, auditors, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will embed safety into architecture, design, and verification from concept to production.
Key Focus Areas
* ISO 26262 functional safety strategy, governance & compliance
* HARA, safety concepts, ASIL allocation & safety lifecycle management
* FMEDA, FMEA, and hardware safety metrics (SPFM, LFM, PMHF)
* Safety architecture, diagnostics & semiconductor product reliability
* Verification & validation (fault injection, robustness testing, ATE)
* Safety case development, manuals, and regulatory documentation
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
* Professional functional safety certification (ISO 26262 / IEC 61508)
* 5+ years’ experience in automotive or semiconductor functional safety
* Strong semiconductor design & verification background
* Proven expertise in FMEA, FMEDA, and safety analysis techniques
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder influence skills
