How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As Associate Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion, managing client relationships, mentoring and developing team members, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Birmingham office. Whilst this is a senior leadership role, work winning and business development responsibilities will not form part of the position, allowing you to focus on project leadership, team management and technical excellence.

The successful Associate Architect will ideally possess the following skills and qualifications:

UK recognised qualifications in Architecture and fully qualified Architect status

ARB registered and ideally RIBA Chartered

Significant post-qualification experience, ideally 8+ years

Proven experience leading and managing project teams

Demonstrable experience running projects through all RIBA stages

Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes and construction methodologies

Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills

Ability to mentor junior staff and help develop a growing team

    Why join this practice?

Play a pivotal role in launching and leading a new Birmingham office

Join an ambitious and expanding practice with a strong pipeline of secured work

Take ownership of project delivery and team development without the pressure of business development targets

Work on a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects across the UK

Benefit from genuine opportunities for future progression as the Birmingham office grows

Enjoy a supportive and collaborative company culture with flexible working options

    Salary and Package:

    £50,000 - £60,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

Private healthcare (available following successful completion of probation)

    Discretionary bonus scheme

    Flexible working arrangements
