Our client are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced active/integrated transport person to join our Transport Planning Service.

What will you be doing?
In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll take a leading position in developing and delivering transport strategies and projects across the county.
You will:

Lead the delivery of the integrated transport elements of the Local Transport Plan, helping to shape the future of transport in Herefordshire
*
Drive forward the Local Cycling, Walking and Wheeling Infrastructure Plan (LCWWIP), supporting more active and sustainable travel choices
*
Identify and secure funding opportunities, developing strong, successful bids that bring investment into the county
*
Work closely with partners including Active Travel England, local stakeholders and community groups to deliver shared ambitions
*
Commission and manage projects and consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money
*
Provide expert advice to senior officers and elected members, helping to inform key decisions
*
Engage with the public and stakeholders to develop transport solutions that reflect local needs and priorities
*
Support and guide colleagues, contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment

About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a proactive, positive approach.
You will ideally have:
* A degree (or equivalent experience) and a relevant professional qualification in transport, planning or a related field
* Experience in transport planning, policy development or active travel delivery
* A good understanding of national transport policy and funding opportunities
* Experience of managing projects, budgets and external consultants
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* The ability to analyse information and turn ideas into practical solutions
* A collaborative and supportive approach to working with colleagues and partners
