Weโre looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading UK Facilities Management provider, supporting a prestigious Pharmaceutical contract in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regulated, critical environment where reliability, compliance, and operational excellence are essential to site performance.
๐ง What youโll be doing:
๐ ๏ธ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems
๐ฌ๏ธ Maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and associated mechanical plant
๐ Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective root cause analysis to minimise downtime
โ๏ธ Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical mechanical infrastructure
๐ Completing maintenance records, compliance documentation, and reports accurately
๐ฆบ Working in line with GMP standards, health & safety regulations, and site procedures
๐ Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and energy efficiency
๐ค Working closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the wider engineering team to maintain service excellence
๐ Supporting contractual KPIs and service delivery standards
โ Maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service at all times
๐ทโโ๏ธ What weโre looking for:
๐น Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent)
๐น Experience within Facilities Management, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or other regulated environments
๐น Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and mechanical building services
๐น Proven experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance
๐น Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
๐น Strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements
๐น Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, critical environment
๐น Good communication and stakeholder management skills
๐น Proactive and customer-focused approach to service delivery
โญ Desirable:
โ Experience working within GMP-controlled environments
โ Knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance requirements
โ Experience using CAFM systems
โ IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
โ Experience supporting energy efficiency and continuous improvement projects
โ Experience working on critical infrastructure and business-critical systems
