We're recruiting for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join a well-established and growing business in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Assistant Warehouse Manager who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced distribution environment.
The Opportunity Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse operation. You'll lead from the front, supporting goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch and stock control activities while helping to ensure performance, accuracy and service levels remain high.
This is a practical leadership position, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, supporting the team and stepping in wherever required to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the day-to-day management of warehouse operations
Supervising, motivating and developing warehouse staff
Ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time
Managing goods-in, stock control and inventory processes
Allocating workloads and resources effectively across the team
Monitoring performance and providing coaching where required
Completing health & safety checks and audits
Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
Investigating and resolving operational issues
Supporting staff administration including absence management and return-to-work processes
Acting as deputy to the Warehouse Manager when requiredAbout You To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Assistant Warehouse Manager position
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, dispatch, stock control and inventory management
Experience managing teams within a warehouse environment
Excellent communication and people management skills
A proactive, hands-on leadership style
Good IT skills, including Excel and warehouse management systems
A Counterbalance or Reach Forklift licence (essential)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detailWhat's On Offer
