How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fault Reporting Operative
    Location: Leeds
    Salary: £15.28 - £16.73 per hour
    Hours: Full Time, Offie Baased,  Monday to Friday, 8:00am and 6:00pm
    Contract: Temp, 13-month Maternity Cover
    Start Date: 1st July 2026
     
    We are recruiting for a Fault Reporting Operative to join the Fault Reporting team within the Customer Service Directorate of a major energy network operator.

    Whilst the team sits within Customer Service, this is not a traditional customer service role. The position is focused on the accurate processing, auditing and analysis of Low Voltage fault information and supporting operational activities across the business.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Accurately input complex Low Voltage fault reports into the Outage Management System.
    Audit Low Voltage fault reports to ensure compliance with business requirements.
    Correct and amend fault reports identified through audit processes.
    Analyse system data and site information.
    Interrogate Low Voltage network records.
    Input and maintain data within MS Access databases.
    Prepare data for annual Quality of Service regulatory submissions.
    Support wider business activities relating to Customer Service and 12-hour restoration targets. 
    Skills and Competencies

    Strong IT and data entry skills.
    Good attention to detail and accuracy.
    Ability to interpret information and identify discrepancies.
    Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    Good written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    Essential Requirements

    Minimum of 2 A Levels or an equivalent NVQ, Business qualification or ILM qualification.
    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
    Desirable Experience

    Previous office-based experience.
    Experience using Outage Management Systems.
    Knowledge of Low Voltage network operations. 
    This role would suit someone who enjoys working with data, has a high level of accuracy and is comfortable working in a structured office environment.
