How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager - Birmingham

    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: Competitive + Package
    Type: Permanent

    Danny Sullivan Group are currently recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the Birmingham region.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business working on large-scale civils, drainage, highways and infrastructure schemes.

    The Role

    As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

    You will manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers while working closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage day-to-day site operations across civil engineering and infrastructure projects
    Lead site teams and subcontractors to achieve programme targets
    Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures
    Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and safety inspections
    Coordinate labour, plant and materials
    Monitor progress, quality and productivity on site
    Review and implement RAMS and construction programmes
    Liaise with clients, stakeholders and project delivery teams
    Ensure project documentation and site records are maintained

    Requirements

    Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction
    Strong knowledge of drainage, highways, earthworks or utilities projects
    Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour
    SMSTS
    CSCS Card
    First Aid at Work
    Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
    Full UK Driving Licence
